If You Like Bob's Burgers: Why?
I HATE Bobs's Burgers. I think it is the least funny animated show in the last 25 years. I have not once even cracked a smile at it. Sadly for me, I must be in the minority, because it is only getting more air time, not less. For the people that do like it, nobody can explain WHY to me. It's either "I just like it" or "only smart people get it" Some idiot response like that. For the record, I like Archer.What I would like, is if you do like Bob's Burgers, please explain WHY. Everyone has a right to opinions, people can love one thing and others can hate it, but please explain WHY. I mean take sports. I don't like sports but I can UNDERSTAND why others do. With Bob's Burgers however, I just can't understand the appeal.
Let me give an example, I love South Park (mostly the 4th grade years, I am not fond of early South Park) Here is why:
1) It makes jokes relevant to what is going on at the time, and take it way over the top. Like the Paris Hilton episode with the "Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Play Set" It makes fun of what trash she is and how insane it is that some girls want to be like her. In the end it gives the moral of the story with Mr. Slave but in a very over the top way.
2) It makes fun of celebrities who need to be brought down a peg in a hilarious way, see above, and I mean there are too many examples to mention, most of you reading know them.
3) I love the parodies they do. I love when they make fun of movies like "The Day After Tomorrow" Things I made fun of with friends, and they do it brilliantly. I almost choked laughing in the "Imagination Land" episode when they did a perfect remake of the beach landing scene from Saving Private Ryan. I love how the parody elections and the political system.
4) Unlike the ultra left moronic shows on Comedy Central like The Daily Show that only attack the right, South Park hits everyone equally.
5) I like the characters. I like how crazy Randy is (Stan's Dad) for example the fights he gets into at little league. I like Mr. Garrison, how he is in a "marginalized group" yet hates others in those groups. Cartman is just awesome on too many levels to name. PC Principal is an amazing character.... he reminds me of several posters on this forum. The hilarious part is he is barely exaggerated. I loved that he was more concerned with Cartman saying spokesman instead of "spokesperson" and marginalizing Italian Americans rather than trying to frame him for raping Butters.
Now for Bobs Burgers I can't relate at all. I mean I think watching grass grow is more entertaining. The characters are just irritating. Were his kids deprived of oxygen as babies? Gene and and Tina are just retarded... Louise is a spazz with a superiority complex. Linda is just irritating.... I mean I feel bad for Bob.. but I am never amused. Can anyone who is a fan of the show explain why they find it funny as I did for South Park?

I hated it at first but then I gave it another try and now it's one of my favorite shows. And funny enough, my gf had the same experience.
Just because I don't agree with you doesn't mean I support the other side.

As someone put earlier, it's not a show to actively seek out, but if it comes on, it's not so bad I'll change the channel either.
